Onafriq, an African omnichannel payments network, has integrated Circle's USDC stablecoin across over 40 markets on the continent. This move provides financial institutions with another option for settling dollar-denominated transactions.

The integration uses Circle Mint and APIs to connect USDC settlement with Onafriq's existing payment infrastructure. The company claims this reduced its estimated implementation timeline from six months to four to six weeks.

USDC will serve as an additional settlement option alongside Onafriq's banking and fiat payment infrastructure, expanding regulated stablecoin settlement across Africa.
