Citi Sees Bitcoin Surpassing $113,000, But Ethereum's Growth Is Already Peaked
Citi, one of the largest banks in the world, has updated its price targets for Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to the bank, Bitcoin is expected to reach $113,000 in the next year, while Ethereum is projected to hit $3,028. The targets imply a 31% increase for Bitcoin and an 11% gain for Ethereum.
The main reason for the difference in upside is the current price levels. Ethereum has surged 53% in the last 90 days, leaving it only 11% shy of its target. In contrast, Bitcoin has increased around 33%, and it still needs 31% to hit $113,000.
Citi's focus on ETF inflows, which consistently favor Bitcoin, also supports its stronger outlook on the asset. The bank expects $5 billion in inflows over the next year, which would translate to a moderate but steady increase in demand. This forecast tends to favor Bitcoin, thanks to its significantly larger ETF market than Ethereum's.
