Citi to Accept Stablecoin Payments via Coinbase
Citi, the global financial institution, has announced that it will accept stablecoin payments from its customers through Coinbase's infrastructure. This move marks a significant step forward in the partnership between the two companies, which began in October 2025 as part of their digital asset collaboration.
The bank plans to launch its digital asset custody service, initially set up with Bitcoin (BTC), by the end of 2026. In addition to this, Citi is expanding its activities into tokenization and Swift-based blockchain transactions.
