Citi's Bitcoin Price Target Faces Skepticism From AI Models
Citi raised its one-year price target for Bitcoin (BTC) to $113,000, a significant jump from the $82,000 estimate made in July. The firm also projected $5 billion in new inflows into crypto funds within the year.
Three AI models - ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok - were consulted on the likelihood of Bitcoin hitting Citi's target by October 2027. The results varied, with ChatGPT estimating a 68% chance of success, while Claude and Grok put it at 46% and 38%, respectively.
All three models agreed that $5 billion alone is not enough to drive Bitcoin to $113,000, with estimates ranging from $6 billion to $15 billion needed. A restrictive Federal Reserve was also identified as the biggest threat to Bitcoin's growth, with potential rate hikes expected in October and beyond.
