Clarity Act Approval Odds Plummet to 37%, Crypto Market Outlook Weakened
JPMorgan analysts have warned that the likelihood of the Clarity Act passing in the Senate before year-end is low, at just 37%. This delay could weaken the crypto market outlook, according to the bank.
The proposed bill aims to create clearer rules for digital assets by dividing oversight between the SEC and CFTC. However, negotiations remain stalled over various issues, including DeFi, stablecoin yield, ethics, enforcement, and anti-money laundering standards.
JPMorgan believes that regulatory clarity could encourage banks, exchanges, custodians, and asset managers to enter the crypto market. However, longer delays could shift blockchain growth towards established financial systems, potentially leading to a decline in public crypto network activity if tokenization develops mainly within traditional infrastructure.
