CLARITY Act Could Favor Altcoins Over Bitcoin

Zach Pandl, Head of Research at Grayscale Investments, believes that the CLARITY Act will be a positive catalyst for crypto if it passes the scheduled Senate vote on September 15. The act aims to normalize how crypto is regulated relative to other established industries.

Pandl thinks that Bitcoin may benefit less than Ethereum, Solana, and other smart contract platforms if the CLARITY Act passes. He argues that Bitcoin already carries clear regulatory status, which could limit its upside. On the other hand, assets like Ethereum, Solana, and Chainlink are better positioned to benefit from new regulatory clarity.

Pandl draws parallels between current market conditions and the period following crypto's last major bottom in 2022-2023. He believes that a strongly bipartisan vote on the CLARITY Act will be a positive catalyst for crypto and is encouraged by the progress made so far, even if the legislative path stalls.
