CLARITY Act Faces Crucial Vote as Crypto Industry Holds Breath

Share

The U.S. crypto industry is on the cusp of its biggest legislative test yet as the Senate prepares to vote on the CLARITY Act next week.

Coinbase Global Inc.'s policy chief, Faryar Shirzad, remains cautiously optimistic about the bill's chances, citing years of bipartisan support building for comprehensive crypto regulation.

Shirzad acknowledges that 60 votes are needed to pass the bill, but notes that Coinbase is not assuming all 53 Senate Republicans will vote in favor.

The biggest risk to passage lies in ethics language related to President Trump's crypto interests, with Democrats criticizing proposed provisions as insufficient and Republicans arguing they provide meaningful safeguards.
