CLARITY Act Fate Uncertain as Senate Agenda Excludes Bill

Share

The U.S. Senate's agenda for Monday does not include the CLARITY Act, leaving its future uncertain as lawmakers prepare to break for recess on August 10.

Former CFTC Chairman Chris Giancarlo has warned the crypto industry not to rely solely on regulatory clarity from the bill, stating that 'the world is going to go on' regardless of its passage.

Giancarlo supports the legislation but believes the sector should be prepared for any outcome. He also suggested that every U.S. financial regulator establish innovation centers to better understand emerging technologies.

The Senate's cloture calendar does not show a filing related to H.R. 3633, the House-passed crypto market structure bill, which could impact the CLARITY Act's progress.
