CLARITY Act Hopes Hang by a Thread Ahead of Crucial Senate Vote

The Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act may have its crucial vote in the Senate this week. However, its passage to the next stage hinges on one condition - a cloture motion from the leadership. The cloture vote is scheduled for Wednesday, and if it happens, a final vote could take place as early as Friday.

Crypto analyst Ted Pillows has expressed concerns that the delay in filing the cloture motion will leave very little time for senators to debate the legislation before Congress begins its August recess on August 10. The Clarity Act is still not on the Senate's floor schedule, making it increasingly difficult for lawmakers to pass the bill.

Despite these challenges, Chainlink Senior Director of Communications Chris Barrett suggests that a vote this week remains possible. He states that the cloture vote on the Clarity Act has not been ruled out for this week and means that a Senate vote to end debate on the bill could still happen this week, but it hasn't been scheduled or confirmed yet.
