CLARITY Act Not Dead: Analyst Sees Path Forward for US Crypto Regulation
Crypto analyst EGRAG CRYPTO pushed back against the notion that the CLARITY Act is dead after it failed to advance in a Senate vote on September 15. The bill needed 60 votes for cloture but fell short with a 49-50 margin.
EGRAG CRYPTO notes that Senator Thom Tillis's procedural motion to recommit preserves the possibility of bringing the bill back for reconsideration. This move is not a rejection of the bill itself, but rather a legislative tool to revisit it later.
The window for this revival is tight. The Senate remains in session only until October 2, leaving 12 session days. Every failed vote burns roughly two days of that calendar. A renewed attempt could theoretically come as early as Thursday, September 17.
