CLARITY Act Odds Underestimated, Blockchain Adoption Endures

The CLARITY Act has become a major focus for the crypto industry, with prediction markets assigning it roughly 47% to 50% odds of passing. However, Alex Tapscott, CEO of CMCC Global Capital Markets, suggests that its chances may be overstated, citing potential difficulties in securing bipartisan support in the Senate.

Tapscott emphasizes that the market has not priced in the CLARITY Act's passage and therefore may not experience a significant shock if it fails. He compares this to the GENIUS Act, which led to a 25% to 30% increase in crypto-related companies like Coinbase, Circle, and Robinhood within seven to 14 trading days.

Tapscott notes that blockchain adoption has continued despite regulatory uncertainty, pointing to Solana's growth as an example. He argues that widespread adoption of platforms like Ethereum and Hyperliquid could break the four-year cycle in crypto prices, where fee revenue accrues to stakers, increasing asset value.
