CLARITY Act Passage Could Unlock US Jobs and Economic Growth
The CLARITY Act's passage could unlock more US jobs and economic growth, according to Stuart Alderoty, Ripple's chief legal officer. In a recent post on X, he wrote that 'a vote for Clarity is a vote for jobs and economic growth.'
A new report by the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) found that the crypto industry supports 232,000 jobs across the US in 2026. This includes around 34,000 direct positions at companies like Ripple and Coinbase, as well as 75,000 jobs supported by suppliers and contractors.
The report also estimated that the sector contributes more than $55 billion to the US economy and generates approximately $31 billion in worker income. California accounted for about 57,600 supported jobs, followed by New York with 53,800 and Texas with 26,500.
Crypto-linked employment carries relatively high wages, according to the study, with an average pay of roughly $133,000 compared to a national median wage of $64,000. However, the passage of the CLARITY Act remains in limbo as it awaits a cloture vote on September 15.
