CLARITY Act Revival Could Boost Coinbase Amid Regulatory Uncertainty

Share

The CLARITY Act has been stalled in the Senate since its passage in the House last July. A bipartisan push by Senators Thom Tillis and Ruben Gallego aims to revise the act, but it's unclear if they can meet their deadline of August 8.

Coinbase and Robinhood support the CLARITY Act because clearer federal rules would reduce regulatory risks and make the crypto market more appealing to investors. They also want stablecoin yields allowed, which many banks oppose as a threat to traditional interest-bearing deposits.

If the CLARITY Act passes with favorable conditions, Coinbase could attract more long-term investors. However, fears of interest rate hikes and macro headwinds may dampen this enthusiasm.
