Clarity Act Still Has Path to Passage Before August Recess

Share

The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act is still in play for passage before the August recess, according to Kristin Smith, one of the top crypto lobbyists. Despite Senate Majority Leader John Thune's earlier statement that lawmakers might not be able to pass the bill before the break, Smith remains optimistic.

Thune had expressed doubts about the Clarity Act and other legislative priorities, saying 'I don’t think we’ll be able to get them done. I would like to at least get Clarity started. We’ll see where the votes are.'

However, Smith has countered that there is still a clear path forward for the bill's passage.

A key law enforcement organization, the National Fraternal Order of Police, has also thrown its support behind the latest version of the Clarity Act after revisions to related language addressed their previous concerns.
