A viral thread on X has sparked a heated debate in the crypto community after a user claimed that Anthropic's AI chatbot Claude helped recover a lost Bitcoin wallet worth nearly $400,000. The wallet had reportedly remained inaccessible for almost nine years.

The user, identified as 'Cprkrn,' shared screenshots of their interaction with Claude, where the AI allegedly assisted in examining encrypted wallet files and streamlining password recovery efforts by analyzing and organizing stored data.

Cprkrn explained that previous attempts using tools like btcrecover and Hashcat had failed, but uploading old computer files to Claude led to a breakthrough. The user stated that the final password solution was surprisingly simple, describing it as 'the most obvious opening ever.'
