Residents of Washington, Georgia gathered on Monday for a community forum to discuss concerns about a proposed data center project by CleanSpark. The company already operates a Bitcoin mining facility in the area and is considering expanding into high-performance computing.

One of the main concerns raised at the forum was the potential impact on the city's aging water infrastructure. Angela Booker Fanning, a Washington resident, expressed concern that the data center could collapse due to the city's old pipes.

Noise pollution was also a major issue discussed during the forum. Ken Parris asked whether the potential economic benefits of expansion outweighed the possible noise impacts.

Residents emphasized the need for greater transparency and involvement in the decision-making process before any further action is taken.
