CleanSpark Mined More Bitcoin in August but Sold Even More
CleanSpark, a Las Vegas-based company, mined 593 Bitcoin in August, marking an increase from July's 586 BTC. This brings the year-to-date production to 4,903 BTC.
The company sold 821 BTC during the month, which is more than it produced. The average sale price was $65,420 per Bitcoin, including net proceeds and premiums.
CleanSpark's Bitcoin holdings decreased to 13,703 coins due to the higher sales figures. Of these holdings, 3,951 BTC were tied to derivative trades, representing approximately 29% of the total.
The company's hashprice, a measure of miner revenue per unit of computing power, averaged $34.63 per petahash per day in August, its highest monthly figure since May. This improvement in mining profitability was largely driven by increasing Bitcoin prices towards the end of the month.
