CleanSpark Seeks $2.2B for Georgia AI Data Center
CleanSpark, an American company specializing in Bitcoin mining and digital infrastructure development, has announced plans to raise over $2.2 billion through senior secured notes due 2031.
The funds will primarily be used for the remaining construction of its data center facility at Sandersville, Georgia, with a capacity of 175 megawatts. This move is part of CleanSpark's broader transition from Bitcoin mining into AI and high-performance computing infrastructure.
As previously reported in July, Meta Platforms (META) will lease the facility through Anviran LLC, its wholly-owned subsidiary. The 20-year lease agreement includes 3% annual rent increases, with expected contracted payments of approximately $6.6 billion.
CleanSpark anticipates average annual net operating income of roughly $330 million from this project. This announcement follows the company's decision to order and prepay for all necessary equipment, as well as fully fund its anticipated equity contribution to the development.
