Clearpool Approves XRP Ledger Migration Amid Stable XRP Price
Clearpool has received overwhelming community approval to migrate its lending infrastructure from Ethereum to the XRP Ledger (XRPL), with 97.16% of voters supporting the move. The transition, which includes a 1:1 swap of the existing CPOOL token for a new CLEAR token on XRPL, is planned for Q4 2026. This initiative is part of a broader collaboration between Clearpool, Ripple, and Cicada Partners, aimed at expanding institutional credit products using RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin.
Despite this significant development, the price of XRP remained relatively unchanged, trading at $1.49 on October 6, down just 1.5% over 24 hours. Market analysts suggest that while Clearpool’s migration adds credibility to XRPL’s institutional credit narrative, the market is waiting for tangible proof of lending activity before pricing in a major payoff. Key factors that could influence XRP’s price include the launch of RLUSD credit vaults, disclosed loan volumes, and institutional participation.
Ripple President Monica Long further hinted at future plans during the XRP Seoul conference on October 3, announcing a credit service backed by XRP as collateral, slated for 2027. However, the immediate impact on XRP’s price remains muted, as traders focus on near-term consolidation and potential support levels. Analysts point to $1.38 as a critical support level, with the potential for XRP to test $1.61 if this holds. Conversely, a drop below $1.38 could see the price fall to the $1.25 range or even the $1.00, $1.20 area, where XRP bottomed in August.
