Clearpool Expands Lending Products to XRP Ledger with Token Overhaul
Clearpool has announced plans to expand its institutional lending products to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) by replacing its current token, CPOOL, with a new one called CLEAR. This move aims to recapitalize its treasury and fund incentives for network growth on XRPL. The company is collaborating with Ripple and Cicada Partners to build native lending infrastructure on XRPL.
The proposed migration will be 1:1, meaning that holders of CPOOL will receive an equal amount of CLEAR tokens in exchange. This move is subject to community approval and XRP Ledger validator consent for new lending protocols before full deployment on the mainnet.
This expansion targets underwritten institutional credit rather than typical decentralized finance lending. The goal is to provide a more secure and reliable lending experience for institutions on XRPL.
