Clearpool Migrates to XRP Ledger, Expands Institutional Credit
Clearpool, an institutional credit marketplace, has finalized its token move to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) after its community overwhelmingly approved the expansion. The move will result in the migration of its native CPOOL token to a new asset called CLEAR, with 97.16% of the community voting in favor. The migration is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The deal's structure is pragmatic, with Clearpool providing technology rails and smart contracts, Cicada Partners auditing borrowers and underwriting risk, and Ripple joining the pools as a limited partner. Financing will be conducted exclusively in the dollar stablecoin RLUSD, giving the coin its first organic circulation among institutional investors.
The 1:1 token migration will also include a recapitalization, with the initial supply of the new CLEAR asset rising to 1.125 billion tokens. To protect investors from dilution, 70% of the new supply will be distributed to current holders at launch. The remaining supply will be balanced by a strict deflationary mechanism, where exactly half of all fees collected by the platform will be used to buy back and permanently burn CLEAR.
The technological foundation for the expansion is being built with future growth in mind, relying entirely on the ledger's native standards. The XLS-65 and XLS-66 amendments are still being tested on Devnet, awaiting the required approval from 80% of validators before full deployment on the XRPL mainnet.
