CME Adds BCH and UNI Futures Contracts Amid Crypto Expansion Push
CME Group, a leading exchange operator, is expanding its cryptocurrency futures lineup by adding Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) contracts. The new products are set to launch on October 19, pending regulatory review. This move comes as part of CME's broader push into the crypto space, which has generated over $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date.
The exchange will offer both standard and micro-sized contracts for BCH and UNI, allowing traders to access these assets within a regulated framework. BCH futures will represent 250 BCH, while micro contracts will cover 25 BCH. Uniswap futures, on the other hand, will cover 10,000 UNI, with its own micro contracts trading at 1,000 UNI.
CME's move has been welcomed by industry players, including Volatility Shares CEO Justin Young, who called it an 'important step in the continued expansion of CME Group's crypto futures offering.' Ripple Prime president Noel Kimmel also added that institutions managing crypto exposure need around-the-clock access to regulated derivatives.
