CME Adds Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures to Altcoin Lineup
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is expanding its altcoin futures lineup by adding Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures. According to a report, CME plans to launch these new products on October 19, pending regulatory approval.
The Bitcoin Cash futures will be based on 250 BCH per contract for standard contracts and 25 BCH for micro contracts aimed at smaller investors. Uniswap futures will trade in units of 10,000 UNI for standard contracts and 1,000-UNI units for micro contracts.
Giovanni Vicioso, global head of crypto products at CME, stated that as the crypto market matures, investors need broader regulated tools to manage digital asset price risk. He emphasized that the new contracts are designed to improve capital efficiency and provide exposure to key crypto networks within a 24-hour regulated market.
CME has been rapidly expanding its single-asset altcoin futures range since launching Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana futures. The addition of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap will become CME's 10th and 11th single-asset crypto futures products.
