CME Adds Bitcoin Cash, Uniswap Futures Amid Institutional Demand
CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives lineup by adding Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures contracts on October 19, pending regulatory approval. The new products will be available in standard and Micro contract sizes.
The CME Group said the launch responds to client demand for institutional-grade risk-management tools as crypto markets continue to develop. This year, the company rolled out futures tied to Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui.
Bitcoin Cash rose 12% to $303 from $270 after the announcement, while Uniswap increased 11% to $9.7 from $8.7. The CME's crypto futures and options recorded an average daily volume of 279,800 contracts in the first half of this year, with an average open interest of 264,600 contracts.
