CME Bitcoin Futures: Noncommercial Traders Boost Net Long Position

Noncommercial traders have increased their net long position in standard Bitcoin (BTC) futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange to 2,756 contracts as of September 22. This marks a significant increase from the previous week's total of 2,468 contracts, with a net gain of 288 contracts.

Total open interest rose to 22,315 contracts, up by 1,542 contracts from September 15. Each standard CME Bitcoin futures contract represents 5 BTC, making the noncommercial net position equivalent to 13,780 BTC in net contract exposure.

Commercial traders held a net short position of 3,109 contracts, while leveraged funds held an outright position that was net short by 7,953 contracts. The Commitments of Traders figures generally reflect positions at the close of business on Tuesday, with this report released on September 25.
