CME Group Adds BCH and UNI Futures Contracts
The CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency offerings by introducing new futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI). The new contracts are set to launch on October 19, according to a statement from the exchange.
This move comes after the CME Group extended its trading hours for bitcoin futures in May, eliminating the weekend trading halt. The addition of BCH and UNI futures will further increase the options available to investors.
The new contracts will have standard values of 250 BCH or 10,000 UNI, with micro-contracts available at 25 BCH or 1,000 UNI. The current market prices for both cryptocurrencies are significantly higher than their standard contract values: around $78,500 for a BCH futures contract and approximately $89,400 for an UNI options contract.
In the first half of 2026, CME Group reported that over 279,800 cryptocurrency futures contracts were traded daily, with an average notional value of $8.3 billion. The open interest in these contracts averaged around 264,600 contracts, with a total notional value of $15.4 billion.
