CME Group Adds Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures Contracts
CME Group is set to expand its crypto futures lineup by adding Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap contracts on October 19, pending regulatory review. This move marks the latest step in CME's broader strategy to offer regulated derivatives for altcoins.
The exchange will offer two sizes of each contract: standard contracts representing 250 BCH and 10,000 UNI, respectively, while micro contracts will cover 25 BCH and 1,000 UNI. This dual-size approach mirrors CME's existing crypto product design, allowing institutional desks to trade full-size exposure while giving smaller accounts or retail-adjacent traders a lower-cost entry point.
CME's global head of cryptocurrency products, Giovanni Vicioso, noted that these new contracts provide capital efficiency and exposure to 'key crypto networks' via a regulated platform. Volatility Shares CEO Justin Young described the move as 'another important step' for the expansion of CME's crypto futures lineup.
