CME Group Expands Crypto Futures Suite to Cover 75% of Market Cap
CME Group's cryptocurrency futures suite has expanded to cover over 75% of the total market capitalization after adding contracts for Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), and Stellar (XLM) on February 9. The exchange claims this milestone is based on CoinMarketCap data from February 13, 2026.
The addition of these three tokens brings CME's regulated crypto derivatives suite to seven tokens in total. The contracts are cash-settled against CME CF Reference Rates and are available in both standard and micro sizes.
CME also reported that its cryptocurrency products had a record year in 2025, with average daily open interest reaching approximately $26.4 billion. This figure reflects the growing institutional exposure to crypto since CME listed its first Bitcoin futures contract in 2017.
