CME Group Expands Cryptocurrency Offerings with BCH and UNI Futures
CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency offerings by launching Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, pending regulatory review. The derivatives marketplace will offer both standard and Micro-sized contracts for these two cryptocurrencies.
The new products will be available in various contract sizes: 250 BCH for Bitcoin Cash futures, 25 BCH for Micro Bitcoin Cash futures, 10,000 UNI for Uniswap futures, and 1,000 UNI for Micro Uniswap futures. This move aims to provide clients with greater versatility and capital efficiency in managing price risk within the regulated marketplace.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, stated that these contracts are 'designed for greater versatility and capital efficiency'. The company has reported significant growth in its cryptocurrency futures and options, averaging 279,800 contracts daily in the first half of 2026, representing $8.3 billion in notional value.
CME Group's expansion into new cryptocurrencies, including Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui, has generated over $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date.
