CME Group Launches Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures on October 19
CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, pending regulatory review. The move expands the exchange's cryptocurrency derivatives suite, which already includes Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and other assets.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, stated that these new contracts will provide clients with greater versatility and capital efficiency to manage price risk and gain exposure to key crypto networks. Justin Young, CEO and Co-Founder of Volatility Shares, added that the addition marks another step in the continued expansion of CME Group's crypto futures offering.
The Bitcoin Cash futures will be sized at 250 BCH per contract and Micro Bitcoin Cash futures at 25 BCH, while Uniswap futures will be sized at 10,000 UNI per contract and Micro Uniswap futures at 1,000 UNI. CME Group's expansion into Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui futures has contributed more than $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date.
