CME Group Lists BCH and UNI Futures, Sending Tokens Soaring
The CME Group has announced that it will list futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) on October 19, pending regulatory review. This move is seen as a significant milestone in the adoption of cryptocurrencies by Wall Street.
According to Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, 'As crypto markets continue to mature, participants require broader, regulated tools to navigate evolving digital asset related price risk.'
The listing will allow traders to bet on or hedge against the prices of BCH and UNI without holding the tokens themselves. The contracts will be available in standard size and micro size for traders who want less exposure per contract.
BCH jumped nearly 10% within minutes of the announcement, while UNI climbed about 5%. However, experts caution that the listing is a credibility boost rather than a guaranteed price catalyst.
