CME Group Sets Sights on BCH and UNI Futures Launch
CME Group is planning to launch futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) on October 19, pending regulatory review. This move aims to expand CME's cryptocurrency derivatives offering and provide market participants with additional instruments for managing price exposure.
The planned contracts will come in standard and micro formats for both assets. For BCH, the standard contract will represent 250 units, while the micro contract will cover 25 BCH. Uniswap futures will have standard contracts covering 10,000 UNI and micro contracts representing 1,000 UNI.
The launch is contingent on regulatory approval, which has not yet been confirmed. CME Group currently offers a range of single-asset cryptocurrency futures, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), Stellar (XLM), Avalanche (AVAX), and Sui (SUI).
CME's expansion comes as its cryptocurrency derivatives business continues to record substantial trading activity. In the first half of 2026, CME Group's cryptocurrency futures and options recorded an average daily trading volume of 279,800 contracts, representing approximately $8.3 billion in average daily notional value.
