CME Group Unveils Regulated Futures for BCH and UNI, Spurring Double-Digit Gains
The CME Group has announced that it will launch regulated futures for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) on October 19. This move is part of the exchange's growing crypto derivatives lineup. BCH surged by 28% within 90 minutes of the announcement, climbing from $270 to $340 on Binance.
Uniswap's token also experienced a significant increase, currently up by 15% to over $10. The CME Group will offer full-size and micro contracts for each asset, with BCH having a contract size of 250 or 25 units and UNI having a contract size of 10,000 or 1,000 units.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, stated that the introduction of these new contracts will provide clients with broader, regulated tools to navigate evolving digital asset-related price risk. He noted that the contracts give clients exposure to key crypto networks within the exchange's 24/7, regulated marketplace.
The launch of BCH and UNI futures is seen as a significant development in the growing market for crypto derivatives. The CME Group has already reported a notable increase in its first-half 2026 crypto futures and options average daily volume, with an average notional value of $8.3 billion.
