Cobalt Upgrade Enhances Regulated Token Transfers on Base Network
Base Network has completed its Cobalt upgrade, which enables more regulated and issuer-controlled token transfers. This is Base's third major upgrade.
The update expands Base's B20 token standard to help issuers apply multiple compliance checks to the same asset. Issuers can now enforce recipient requirements such as identity checks, accreditation status, and sanctions screening on the same token.
Cobalt also introduces Validity Transactions, which allow users to submit transactions that only become eligible once specified blockchain conditions are met. This feature is designed to give users more control over timing.
