Coinbase Adds Prediction Contracts for Crypto Market Events
Coinbase users can now trade prediction contracts on future events, including economic and crypto market fluctuations. The platform offers regulated 'Yes/No' contracts that pay out $1 if the event happens and $0 if it does not.
The S&P price at 4pm EDT on October 2, 2026 is a target of one such contract. According to Coinbase's terms, this market will close and expire when an outcome occurs or by October 2, 2026, 8:00 PM GMT+0.
Prediction markets are offered by Coinbase Financial Markets, which requires users to complete onboarding and identity verification before trading. Trading fees vary by market but cover costs for operating the market and the broker fee.
