Coinbase adds regulated futures and swaps trading
Coinbase has launched regulated futures and swaps trading services through its subsidiary, Coinbase Financial Markets. The platform is registered with and regulated by both the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the National Futures Association (NFA).
The announcement highlights the risks involved, noting that these products carry the potential for total loss. Trading is also not available in Nevada, and the outcomes depend on specific event-based payouts.
Coinbase emphasizes that these services are not intended as investment advice. The exchange, known for supporting a wide range of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, continues to expand its offerings with educational resources and analytical tools for individual and business users.
