Coinbase and Citi Expand Stablecoin Payments Partnership
Coinbase and Citigroup are expanding their partnership to support stablecoin payments for business clients. The two firms first teamed up in October 2025 to connect fiat payments with crypto infrastructure.
Under the expanded agreement, corporate clients of both companies will have more ways to move between traditional money and stablecoins. Coinbase will use Citi's Virtual Account Wallet to power its own Virtual Accounts product for business customers.
This lets companies accept, hold, and pay out fiat currency, with incoming funds automatically converted into stablecoins. The setup is designed to let large companies accept digital payments without building their own blockchain systems.
