Coinbase and OKX Coordinate Controlled Debut of Concrete Token
Coinbase and OKX have coordinated their listings of Concrete token, with both exchanges using controlled price discovery mechanisms to manage the debut. Coinbase employed a 10-minute auction window for the CT-USD trading pair, limiting orders to limit orders with an 'Allow Taker' designation. In contrast, OKX ran a one-hour call auction for the CT/USDT pair, followed by a five-minute restriction on market orders.
The controlled price discovery approach is designed to mitigate thin early liquidity and potential wild price swings that can occur when a new token lists. By collecting limit orders exclusively during the auction window, exchanges can establish an opening price that better reflects real demand rather than speculative trades.
Concrete positions itself as an institutional-grade on-chain asset management platform operating on Ethereum. The token's listing on two major exchanges marks its debut across two of the industry's largest platforms simultaneously, with liquidity and price discovery happening in parallel venues.
