Coinbase and Rivals Top Fintech 500 List as Stablecoin Market Predicted to Soar

Coinbase, Bybit, Circle, and Gemini have been ranked among the leading digital asset fintechs in 2026 by CNBC and Statista's Fintech 500 list.

The ranking covers eight market groups and includes companies of various sizes. The fintech industry generated $650 billion in sales in 2025, a 21% increase from 2024, while the financial services industry as a whole grew by 6%.

Digital asset companies are turning blockchain tools into services for banks and businesses, with many creating and managing tokens for other businesses. The Singapore group includes Amber Group, ChainUp, Crypto.com, Triple-A, and StraitsX, while US entries include Bakkt, BitGo, Blockdaemon, Digital Ascension Group, Everstake, Securitize, Payward, and Zero Hash.

McKinsey expects four trends to shape the next fintech era, with artificial intelligence being a major one. 'Fintechs are deploying AI to build products in weeks that once took years,' McKinsey said. The promise of stablecoins for cross-border payments is also clear, but only about 1% of $35 trillion in stablecoin transactions represents true end-user payments.
