Coinbase and Stablecore Team Up for Digital Asset Services at Small Banks
Coinbase and Stablecore have formed a partnership to bring stablecoin and digital asset services to smaller financial institutions. The tie-up is already live with Amarillo National Bank in Texas, allowing banks and credit unions to offer digital asset custody, trading, and stablecoin payments to their customers without needing to leave their existing banking platform or build new technology from scratch.
Stablecore works exclusively with community and regional banks and credit unions, integrating digital asset services into their existing core banking, digital banking, and compliance systems. Its platform reaches more than 3,000 US banks and credit unions, while Coinbase provides the regulated infrastructure for custody and exchange.
Alec Lovett, Head of Infrastructure Business at Coinbase, said 'Community banks and credit unions shouldn't have to choose between staying local and staying current.' Alex Treece, Co-Founder and CEO of Stablecore, added that 'Banks and credit unions should not have to move to completely new technology platforms to support digital assets for their clients.'
