Coinbase and Stablecore Unite to Bring Crypto Services to Thousands of US Banks

Share

Coinbase and Stablecore are joining forces to bring digital asset services to thousands of US banks and credit unions. The partnership allows financial institutions to offer cryptocurrency custody, trading, staking, and stablecoin payments without replacing their existing technology platforms.

The network of more than 3,000 US financial institutions connected by Stablecore will be integrated with Coinbase's infrastructure, providing regulated digital asset services through the banking system. Each participating institution can choose which services to offer and how clients will access them.

Alec Lovett, Coinbase Head of Infrastructure Business, said institutions should not have to choose between local relationships and new technology. Alex Treece, Stablecore CEO, echoed this sentiment, stating that banks should not need new platforms to support digital asset services.
