Coinbase Backs Aerodrome-Velodrome Token Merger
Coinbase has announced its support for the token migration of Aerodrome (AERO) and Velodrome (VELO) into a unified AERO token. The exchange will convert existing tokens from November 2 to 4, 2026, as part of a larger merger between the two decentralized exchanges built by Dromos Labs.
The merged platform, called Aero, is set to launch on October 21, 2026, and will span several networks including Base, Optimism, and Ethereum mainnet. During the migration window, deposits and withdrawals of legacy tokens will be paused temporarily, while trading will be wound down in stages.
AERO holders will receive a 1:1 swap, while VELO holders will convert to approximately 0.044 new AERO per token. The allocation of new AERO supply favors Aerodrome, with holders receiving around 94.5% of the total, compared to 5.5% for Velodrome.
