Coinbase Brings Stock Tokenization to Base Chain with Chainlink Integration
Coinbase has launched its stock tokenization product on the Base chain, enabling non-U.S. users to hold and trade tokens representing ownership of industry giants such as NVIDIA and Apple.
The product, which integrates Chainlink price data, allows users to integrate these assets into lending markets, decentralized exchanges, and structured products.
The tokenization is done in the form of B20 tokens on Coinbase's Layer 2 blockchain, Base, with each token representing direct ownership of the corresponding stock held by Alpaca, a broker and custodian regulated by Abu Dhabi Global Market.
Currently, assets such as NVIDIA (NVDA.US), Apple (AAPL.US), Meta (META.US), and Alphabet (GOOGL.US) are available, with more Coinbase-listed tokenized stocks expected to launch on the Base platform in the coming weeks.
