Coinbase Brings Stocks, ETFs, and Cryptos Under One Roof

Coinbase, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has expanded its services to include US stock trading for UK users. The platform now allows customers in the UK to trade over 4,000 US stocks and ETFs directly within the app they use to buy and store cryptocurrencies.

This move marks Coinbase's strategy to transform its platform into a universal hub for trading both digital and traditional financial assets. The company aims to eliminate the need for separate brokerage platforms by allowing users to manage traditional investments and digital assets from a single wallet.

The new service provides 24/5 access to US capital markets, covering pre-market sessions, regular trading hours, after-hours, and overnight sessions. Users can fund their accounts using British Pounds (GBP) or the USDC stablecoin, with no transaction commissions applied. Coinbase One subscribers will receive additional incentives, including rewards on their USDC balances.

The launch represents a significant move in Coinbase's efforts to diversify its business beyond crypto trading and compete directly with traditional investment platforms. By combining crypto assets, US stocks, and ETFs in one application, Coinbase aims to attract investors seeking a unified platform for their entire portfolio.
