Coinbase Brings Tokenized Stocks to Base Platform with Chainlink Pricing
Coinbase has launched tokenized stocks on its Base platform, partnering with Chainlink to provide real-time pricing data.
The B20 tokens, which represent shares in companies like Nvidia and Apple, are available to non-US users in eligible jurisdictions. The stocks can be held in self-custody wallets and traded around the clock.
Chainlink Data Feeds will provide continuous pricing for the tokenized stocks, taking into account dividends and corporate actions. This data allows DeFi protocols to integrate the assets into lending markets, decentralized exchanges, and structured products.
The launch comes as the market for tokenized equities continues to grow, with a total value of around $2.48 billion and a monthly transfer volume of $27.28 billion. The number of holders has surpassed 2.1 million, according to RWA.xyz data.
