Coinbase Brings Tokenized Stocks to Onchain Markets with Chainlink Support
Coinbase has launched its tokenized US stocks on Base, making equities like Apple, Nvidia, Meta, and Alphabet available to eligible non-US users. The move brings traditional equities into onchain markets, allowing users to hold and trade these assets around the clock.
The tokenized stocks are issued as B20 tokens directly on Base's Layer-2 blockchain. Each token represents a direct claim on an underlying share held with regulated broker and custodian Alpaca under an Abu Dhabi Global Market-supervised structure.
Chainlink Data Feeds provide continuous price information for the assets, making them potentially usable in lending markets, decentralized exchanges, and structured financial products.
