Coinbase CEO Accuses WSJ of Hostile Coverage in CLARITY Act Saga
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has expressed his frustration towards The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) over their recent publications and an upcoming report that he believes is a scheme against Coinbase and himself.
In a recent X post, Armstrong revealed that the WSJ is working on a story that could be misleading, as they seem to be in alliance with theories from banks. He claims that the publication has been 'hostile' towards the CLARITY Act, consistently publishing reports that reflect the views of banks pushing against the bill.
Armstrong argues that he had initially opposed the legislation due to concerns about DeFi, tokenization, CFTC authority, and stablecoin rewards. However, he worked with other stakeholders to improve the bill before it was passed by the Senate in its final form.
