Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says the next major piece of US crypto legislation is nearing a critical vote, which could establish clearer market rules and a more durable regulatory framework for the industry.

According to Armstrong, President Donald Trump recently brought together industry participants and regulators to advance the CLARITY Act, which is expected to come up for a vote on September 15.

The Coinbase CEO also emphasized that cryptocurrency adoption continues to expand across various sectors, including payments, lending, prediction markets, and real-world asset tokenization. He noted that stocks are being tokenized now, and investment funds are moving onto blockchain platforms.

Armstrong sees agentic finance emerging as another major catalyst for blockchain adoption, predicting that AI agents will soon outnumber humans and require a new financial infrastructure capable of handling machine-to-machine payments efficiently.
