Coinbase CEO Sees Clarity Act as Key to Crypto Market Growth
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong remains optimistic about the passage of the Clarity Act, which he believes will provide clarity and structure to the cryptocurrency market. While the odds of its passage this year are only 30%, Armstrong thinks it's essential for the industry's growth.
The Clarity Act would classify most major cryptocurrencies as digital commodities rather than securities, shifting their regulation from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This change would provide a more favorable regulatory environment for these assets.
If the bill passes, it's likely that institutional investors will flock to the market, driving up prices. Solana, XRP, and Ethereum are among the top contenders for investment, given their growing adoption in asset tokenization. However, if the bill doesn't pass or is delayed, the bear market may persist.
