Coinbase Crushed by Soft Crypto Market, Yet Still Grabs Record Market Share
Coinbase reported Q2 revenue of $1.22 billion, an 18.7% year-over-year drop that fell short of analysts' expectations of $1.29 billion.
This decline in revenue is attributed to softer crypto trading on its core business. However, despite this, Coinbase achieved a record 10.3% share of global crypto trading volume, demonstrating the company's enhanced competitive ability across varying market conditions.
The company's subscription revenue reached $555 million, accounting for 46% of total revenue, showcasing its success in diversifying its revenue streams, even as transaction revenue stood at $599 million.
